The way I see it whats the point of drinking if not to get drunk?

Lots of beer and wine connoisseurs out there too, who mainly drink for the taste and not so much to get drunk.

Most of the guys I know get drunk to use it as an excuse for why they did what they did. That or they pretend they're drunk to use an excuse for why they did what they did. People are morons. I've never really figured it out. I like the taste of beer and some liquor/hard alcohol, but not enough that I'd drink a sh1tload of it. Only time I had a lot (7 beers + an apple twist) I got sick without the benefit of at least being drunk. Not for me.

Why get drunk? I see no reason for it. I drink...but I don't drink a lot and I don't drink all that often. I find drinking doesn't do much for me other than empty money from my bank account.

Exactly. Drinks are expensive, especially when you can't stomach cheap-ass beer like half my classmates here at Wazzu. 😛 And besides, I'd rather just have a couple strong drinks, feel a little buzz and have a good time without waking up and wondering what I did the night before.

Some stuff actually tastes good. As far as gettin drunk tho, the world seems like an infinitely more fun place when drunk. There are very few things in this world that AREN'T more fun when you're drunk. Not that I encourage being drunk for every activity. But once in a while it's nice to toss back like 20 or 30 drinks wake up the next morning with massive head pains, not knowing how you got back and laughing about it all with your buddies later that day. They make good stories.

I dunno, I've stopped drinking as much as I used to, I just don't have any fun when I'm wasted. On a side note, its my bday, and game day 😀

I can't i can drink my ASS off, and only get so drunk. I have a motility disorder that prevents me from digesting quickly so i hit a curtain point and im done, if i try to get drunker i go home and fall asleep and continue to get drunk until like 2 in the next afternoon. It eventually leads to me puking.

I don't really get all that drunk, I usually just get a good buzz going because it makes my night more enjoyable, less inhibitions to make me think twice about doing something stupid. I don't drink enough that ugly people become good looking though. If I can't make that distinction then I am too drunk to be doing whatever I am doing.

Why get (overly) drunk?

Overly isn't a good idea, but I drink to feel that something. I can't tell. I don't get stupid or anything when I'm drunk, I'm always perfectly conscious and even more so than when I'm sober. No crap, man. That's the truth. I hate getting overly drunk, though. Call me a fool, but I can't resist a glass of wine every now and then.
