Why FSB @ 1333

Hey guys I am thinking about going to get a new EVGA 680i mobo when I noticed that the FSB goes up to 1333??
So what gives?
Is there going to be a new cpu that runs at 1333 FSB that works in the s775 mobo's?
If so I am so sold on this mobo...
I am guessing the new cpu is going to be the 45nm native quad cores?
Come on dont be shy and let me know what you all know..

yes, it's waaay better... u need to go buy one and build a new system and send your tired old rig to me for recycling... ;)

but really... bigger numbers look better on the cover of the box... and eventually the chips might catch up...

it's like my amp... i had to go buy one with the volume knob that goes to 11, because my old one only went to 10 and it just wasn't loud enough...

Did you know that Athlon 64s go up to 2000 MHz HyperTransport? Why don't you grab one of those bad boys?

Well humm I was just asking cause I was looking at going SLI with the new Nvidia EVGA 8600 Ultra KO's.
I just thought it would be a big plus if the new cluster of cpu's coming out in the 45nm quadcore flavor will still come in socket 775 as seeing this board supports 1333FSB.
I am so hoping they stay with the socket 775 when releasing the 1333FSB cpu's and keep ddr2 a little longer so that it will justifie me buying this board.
I am by far not rich and I have been saving left and right for a little upgrade here and there so I can stay up with the times..
I dont carer about having the best of the best thats why I am choosing to get the 8600 Ultra's instead of a 8800gtx.
So what do you guys think should I get a EVGA 680i mobo or should I hold off for something else??
If I do end up getting a 680i I will just sell the p5b-DX for like a 100 bucks or there abouts is that a good selling price as I still have the original box and every other little detail that came with it??
I would say about 90% of all the extra's are still factory sealed.

Seems like the time invested in all that board swappage is not worth the minimal speed bump you would see in benchmarks, as I guarantee you'd be hard pressed to feel any difference. So what is your time worth to you ?

To answer you original question, yes Intel will be adding 775 based CPU with 1333 FSB, apparently sometime in 2007.
Here is a Daily Tech article describing them in the Intel roadmap. According to the article, they will be know as E6x50 series.

Hey thanks man for that link..
I just hope they make a qx6750 that would be sweet stuff.
Well I think I will just sit back for about another month and see what comes out mobo wise and hopefully r600 is out by then also.
Plus that will give me time to let the prices drop a tad bit.
