Why Fortnite? Why is it the HOT game at the moment?

I mean, in the Arma game itself. Realistic guns. 1-hit kills. Mines, tanks, helicopters.

Because Arma is awesome but, being a realistic simulator, you do a lot of being very careful and you do very little blowing things up.

Arma 3 needs more blowing things up.

My teenage cousins are all over fortnight. They like the shooter + building combined. It does have appeal there. But, I HATE 3rd person games usually, and even worse are deathmatch games that don't let you respawn. Something like 100 player arena shooter with Quake deathmatch rules would be a lot of fun though.

I hate third person games too, but they are much better accepted with politicians and helicopter parents.

My wife saw on the news that parents are forgoing math tutors and getting their kids Fortnite tutors. Gotta have priorities . . .

Fortnite is hot Because they are developing the game according to what players now a days want. Story, continuous development and competitive this game offers and its chill at the same moment.

Wait... There's story in Fortnite? I mean I played the original campaign and there was a story, but they've continued it? None of the kids I talk to mention the story at all. It's just Battle Royale all day.

When I was 15, I was doing multiple play throughs of Baldur's gate mostly so I could get through every dialogue branch. I save scummed a bit with Marl in Beregost, because a younger me delighted in the various ways I could piss that guy off into attacking me. I only eventually realized there was an option to completely talk him down without bloodshed, and for a nice xp boost to boot!

Yeah, I was a nerd.
