Fear and discomfort buys you a pass for the first election after 9/11. At this point, its morphed into some kind of bizarre idiocy that has people voting against their own best interests.

The great tragedy of this situation is that a guy like McCain, who actually put his money where his mouth is at great risk to his own life, and spent his career fighting with morons like Bush and Co., is now going to be judged with them. I only wish he had been the Republican nominee at any other time in history except now.
