I think you need to get a freakin' clue before you post stupid opinions like that...

We all know *that's* not going to happen, though.

I say we grab a crapload of coal, drop it in Venus and let it sit for 1-2 hours, then scoop back up and bring it back to Earth! We'd all be rich! The pressure on Venus will turn the coal in to diamonds instantly! Woohoo!!

Also, one Martian day in very close to one Earth day, about 24 and a half hours if I remember correctly. But, one Venus day is 243 Earth Days. Interestingly enough, it takes only 225 Earth days for Venus to orbit the sun. So, if we were on Venus, we would be celebrating new years more than once between sun rises...that would be weird.

your post makes no sense.

If there were a way to pull venus into an orbit in Earth's path on the opposite side of the Sun, and condense much of that atmosphere, we might be able to terraform it. The trick is developing a technology/method of coaxing an entire planet...

Venus is much larger than Mars. It's almost as big as the Earth.

Venus is much more inhospitable than Mars. It's hot enough to melt lead. That and the sulphuric acid rain would do number to the paintjob on the spaceship.

Mars is where its at.

I was under the impression that Mars has candy bars. But of all the planets I would definetely stay away from Jupiter.

It doesn't to me. The Martian Year is 1.88 Earth years (equal to 687 Earth days).

Edit: I guess it is pretty close, just more days in a year.

I was confused too... but this is a quote from the link above...
A Venusian day is 243 Earth days and is longer than its year of 225 days.

We should take up a collection and see if he can do it with his head. I'd pitch in $20.

Yeah...cuz girls go to college to get more knowledge and boys go to Jupiter to get more stupider! :p

/me with /you. Also OIKOS, Venus is larger not smaller than Mars. Venus is closer in size to the Earth (Venus and Earth are considered sister planet's because of that).

I was simply stating that because one Martian day is relatively equal to one Earth day, it would be easier for living things to adapt (since sunrises and sunsets would come at about the same frequency as on they do on Earth).

However, with Venus' day lasting 243 Earth days, it would be much more difficult. How quickly do you think living organisms from Earth would be able to get used to 120 (Earth) days in sunlight and then 120 days in darkness? The thing about Venusian years being shorter than its days was just a bit of trivia I found interesting.
