And I don't see many companys making them...only some generic ones?

Only 2 memory slots on my epox mobo...wanna stick one 512 so i can upgrade later in future..but was unable to find a descent 512ddr mem?

It would be awesome if crucial have them since all there memory are very cheap rite now.....but can't find one...: (

anyone? suggestions?

just don'w wanna take up all my mem slot for only 512ram...

hmm... dont know what to tell ya - i only saw 256 as max at crucial too.
however, if you use win98, you only need 256. i guess in 2k or xp youd need more, especially if you do video editing and stuff

Mushkin has 512 MB DDR sticks for $177. That ain't bad. $269 for Registered sticks.

Crucial will eventually make them, give them some time. Higher density DIMM's somtimes take longer to appear for sale on crucial's page. As DDR continues to evolve into the next standard that niche of the market will be served, but not too soon!!

Be patient. They will make them. I wish they would myself. Just try to enjoy the price of the 256M DDR chips for the time being.

thanks, hopefully they would come out sooner...
btw that mushkin memory is really expensive...compare to crucial have 256 for $42
i am willing to pay $100 for it...but not $200...
which i can buy 4 sticks from them....sigh...

had 512ram on my pc133 piii...now a uprade to amd 1.33 downgraded my ram...

is it worth it? a question i am wonderign.....sigh..

Watch your ram usage. If you are in win98, 256 is plenty.

I got an MSI K7T266 Pro from newegg for $90... 3 ddr slots 😀! Wait it out and stick with 256 in the meantime in your case though; it'll be worth it. Although seriously, do you REALLY NEED anything more than 512mb (256+256)?
