Why don't you like Bush (GWB, not the one in your pants)?

Why is it oh so difficult to keep this crap in P&N where it belongs? If we wanted to talk about this, we'd be in P&N. We're in off topic, so stop baiting already.

He's not. But even an evil genius is still evil.

P&N isn't so bad anymore, because the Bush-backers don't have anything new left to say.

Kerry has even been winning in all the Kerry vs. Bush polls lately.

Voted for him in 2000. Feel I've been deceived (I could list the 20-or-so flip-flops of his ranging from no nation building to environmental campaign promises to fighting investigations of scandal in his administration - of which there are several)

Every time I hear Bush talk, he sounds like he's trying to defend himself, trying to justify his actions and trying to discredit others. You can hear it in his voice whenever he gives a speech.

Each time he gives a speech I just want to say:
Hello bush? You're the only one speaking, no one's attacking you so stop sounding so defensive!

I sure hope you don't trust any politicians...

Let me correct myself then: GWB and the administration, by their words and their actions, take my distrust to a new, exponentially higher level.

Exactly!

That's why I started to reconsider voting for him. All through last year I kept hearing him defend his position on invading Iraq. Seems at least once a week he would be questioned on it. I finally got to thinking, hmm...he's defending himself a lot on this, not ignoring the questions but giving credence to them (the ol' methinks he doth protest too much.)

I think he kept defending himself because the media kept asking the question over
and over again and instead of saying "I've covered this before, next question" he would
graciously answer and give his reasoning behind what he had done.

That's what I thought but after a while, the typical response is "asked and answered". Bush kept giving them credence by answering with something. I began to notice a change in his answers, too, shying away from the WMDs (which were the legal justification used for the invasion.)

That works.
