they've been talking about 3d interfaces for computers for a long time. There was some shell replacement for windows that I saw, that you walked around some room and it had different things in different places. the gloves are sweet. I told my friend that I wanted that the last time I watched the movie.

That's very different and it was rather crappy. I want something a little more refined and smarter, wireless too.

You think so? i dont know anything about this kind of stuff, but if someone in here does, how hard would it be to make some type of gloves that recognize our hand movements and gestures?

But wouldn't that mean the cursor would be moving around rapidly for a lot of people, they wouldn't be able to navigate around the web easily....

Good point...maybe they can lower the sensitivity. My logitech mx500 is already at max acceleration and speed and it feels slow as hell now that i'm used to it.

Waving your hands in the air all day.. That's got to be ergonomic, NOT :) Too much Star Trek, eh? One hour of hand-waving in such gloves would be equivalent to a 2-hour workout at the gym!

You miss the times when you didn't have to please your wife and could indulge in the good old whacking off to the Jpegs of Sarah Michelle Gellar, don't you!

Well i'm not saying we have to be standing up and waving our arms around like were crazy, we can just sit at our desk like normal and have our hand there and do the regular mouse stuff just without a mouse...... like lets say you just slide your hand around on your desk or whatever...... i think i need sleep :p

I don't imagine it'd be that hard to make, but I imagine it'd be expensive. I know they have a control device for your PC that reads head/eye movement to use the computer, but I hear results are irregular without becoming accustomed to it. It's good for those people who have carpal I imagine (like me!). I think sony has a camcorder that's controlled by your eye too. As far as gloves, I imagine a tiny little camera could do the trick...kinda like how the nintendo light gun worked, snapshot of screen, feed into pc and pc translates snapshot into action, except snapshots would prolly occur 30-40 times a second...I woke up not too long ago, brain is kinda fuzzy cuz I forgot why I'm replying.
