I'm talking about Die Hard!

I just bought the new Die Hard Collection today (all 3 movies)...I forgot how awesome these movies were. Action, humor, and a bunch of kickass one-liners from Bruce Willis.

This set is awesome... 6 DVDs, 2 for each movie. Loads of extra features, and the transfers, both audio and video, are superb (Part 3 is a little lacking though). Hell, one of the features is a little thing to teach Joe Six-Pack the benefits of widescreen and those "black bars." It's about damn time one of the studios started doing this stuff. Fox has been putting out a LOT of good stuff lately...and they used to be the WORST studio for DVD releases. kudos to them for putting out such an awesome box set.

I picked this up for $59.99 Canadian...so it should be less than $50 in the US. I highly recommend that everyone with a DVD player go pick this up NOW! This is the ONLY way to watch a movie like this...gives me more reason to continue upgrading my home theater 😀

btw, the DVDs cannot be purchased seperately at this point. Die Hard 1 can be, but the other two won't be available individually for a while.

Awesome movies. Sounds like an awesome set. Have you seen the set that's being released for the Godfather? They are FINALLY going to release it on DVD.

I am a fan of the series and the action is awesome - glad to hear the transfers are good and that there are goodies to be had on the extra discs. Nothing worse than a DVD with CRAP for "extra features." *cough cough all Star Trek movies cough cough*

You said you bought them today...it sounds like you watched all of them already!??!
 
I agree (about the quality of the Die Hard movies).

The Lethal Weapon series also gets an honorable mention as well.
 
When is the Godfather DVD set going to be released? I'm debating whether ordering it from Amazon.com using my 10% off STL (share the love) discount, $10 off $75 coupon and free shipping -or- waiting for the local national retailers (Best Buy, Circuit City) to list their price. Sometimes you get burned ordering DVDs online then Best Buy decides to carry it for $16.99 with no coupon/rebate hassle but the downside is you gotta put clothes on, and drive to the local store - bah!
 
Well, i watched the first two back to back 😛 and briefly looked at the third one.

The original Die Hard box set was just crap..this one is 100x better I'm tellin ya.
 
The GF one is a WHOLE SET. It's 5 DVDs with all three movies and some extras. It gets released in October and there's a good deal at Amazon with a coupon.

Nothing like the good-ol' days. Yep, good action flics are hard to come by of late. If Hollywood got some good script writers, there might be hope.

I think you're right plus the Amazon $10 off $75 coupon expires soon, my 10% off STL, $10 off $75 plus free shipping make it an attractive deal. Hopefully I'll be able to preview the Best Buy/Circuit City ad before my GF DVD set ships just in case I want to cancel my Amazon.com order.

Looks like Ross will be playing with his plastic again tonight.
