Why don't they make a tv show about tech support or something?

You know like a sitcom or drama, which revolves around a group of tech support center and the people in it. It has promise if you ask me.

The sitcom would be about these 20 somethings (3 girls, 2 guys), who do tech support at a large fortune 500 firm. In every episode, there is a new clueless user, and they make fun of him. Then there is the guy who is always having problems with his computer, and the smart talking kid, who doesn't need tech support. Some scenarios could include fixing the printer, when it wasn't broken, deleting some files, and going through a hillarious ordeal to get them back from the backup, or it could be the simple, "Help, my computer doesn't work".

Now the drama needs to deal with more serious topics. What happens when you don't do backups, or when the network crashes, and how each member of the team gathers it in himself to overcome the obstacles.

I would watch it.

why don't they make a sitcom about idiot atot user, and every week other members of the forum makes fun of them..

I think the jokes would get old... I can only think of a handful of ways users can make themselves seem more clueless around a computer.

LOL

Will the network go down?

What would happen if the raid array failed?

The trials of adding a network printer.

And what if a sinister plot revealed itself as an attemped internal hacking of the network in order to make a CS server for all of the outside world to play on?

Stay tuned for next week's episode of "Tech Support Turmoil: the ulimate reality show"

Ahhhhh, you are still young, Grasshopper.

I observed new highs in user cluelessness for 20+ years.

I've considered writing a pilot about something like this.

Look for the "Bastard Operator From Hell" series of stories here on the Internet. This pretty much sums up anything one could come up with in regards to working in support role. If it was ever made for TV, I'm sure it would tank.

Part of the problem is that in order to be anywhere CLOSE to realistic, it would have to be set in Bangalore.

Maybe ten people would watch it on a good night.
