Why don't they institute some type of program akin to the movie "A clockwork orange"

To prisoners?

I'm not saying following the script of the movie to a T, but institute some type of behavior modification program and make them productive members of society.

So you came away from that movie thinking it was a good thing?

Bizarre.

Because of the The US Constitution

8th Amendment: Cruel and Unusual Punishment
14th Amendment: Due Process

Yes, it made him a blubbering mess. Take a better course of action, that's all.

Now did you learn anything?

Well if you own stock in the company that makes Visine, then maybe.

A great film.
Am I odd for sympathising with the main character even before he was subjected to his "cure"?

As long as prisoners are kept out of the main society I don't give a damn what the government does to them. As long as they aren't living better than I am.

I'm sorry, but I never did feel sorry for that raping murdering bastard.

Before you jump down my throat, I do support the Constitution and it's protection of the accused and convicted.

Just don't ask me to feel sorry for the lead character in that movie. I never understood why anyone did.

It's the concept of the anti-hero...it's a literary type thingy. Matters not your political position.

You know what I think we need? Little cameras in our houses, like in 1984. That was great idea, there'd be no more spousal abuse!

A sympathizer for him? I don't really see it any other way.

When he was having kisses blown at him, he should have been gang raped by those weirdos in order that he gets a taste of his own medicine.

You don't exactly have to be a sympathizer for him (or liberal) to see the problems with the type of behavior modification they were using.

Maybe we could put chips in every citizen so the government can track every move?

notfred and you, two cheeks of an ass.

What does the movie A Clockwork Orange have anything to do with movie 1984 or placing chips in every citizen?

Take your crappy points elsewhere. They have no bearing on the topic.

Without the choice to do bad, we don't have the capacity to do good. We aren't human anymore.
