Why don't the images at fox302.com ever show up for me?

Ok, anytime someone posts a pic at fox302.com, I can't ever see it. I've tried Opera and IE and with and without the ad blocking stuff I use.

Actually, I can view the "Paypal donate" button, but I really don't care about that.

Anyone else have this problem? I have ignored it for like a month but it gets anooying after some time...

Mods: I posted it here ebcause I am sick of this problem and don't want to wait like 5 days for a solution.

You are correct Happy Puppy

I too can see the "Paypal Donate" button, but everything else is a red x for me. I tried in IE 6.0 and Mozilla 1.4 :(

notfred suggested I try another PC or internet connection, but I'm in the middle of a big download so I won't be able to for a little while AgaBooga.

I have no idea why it doesn't work for the two of you. Is there anyone else it doesn't work for? What do you and Zim have in common?

Oh, I don't know if this helps, but I never had a problem on the old web server notfred.

I really doubt it's an issue of hardware. What ISP do you guys use, what web browsers have you tried?

I'm using an RCN cable modem and I've tried IE 6.0 & Mozilla 1.4, I've also checked my firewall program and I don't have fox302.com listed as a blocked site at all.

I use Road Runner through Bright House Networks (Previously Time Warner). This also happened with Earthlink broadband through the same provider.

I've tried IE 6.0 and Opera 7.1X

I just tried it on my brother's computer on the same network, and it works on his. That narrows it down to something with out computers. Two distinct things between my brother's and my computer is that I run Norton Anti-Virus 2003 and Norton Firewall 2003. I'll try turning both off and then I'll report back.

Okay, I too use NAV 2K3 & NPF 2K3, if I disable both, notfred's site works for me

It has to do with how the firewall's cookie/referrer settings interacts with the gallery software. Try adjusting these settings to view them.

I've been having this same problem forever. It's about time it got solved! I'm running NAV 2003 and NPF 2003 as well. As soon as I disable the firewall, the images are viewable. Thanks for the help guys.

While I too am pleased to figure out that it's NPF 2K3, I'm looking for which setting we all need to adjust as I like yourself I suppose don't want to turn off my firewall to view notfred's site :)

I have suddenly developed a dislike of norton's firewall software ;)

Glad you guys figured it out, though. :)

Well, I was looking through and it can't be a cookie issue. My firewall is configured to allow all cookies. Is anything not normal about that site?

The site doesn't even create cookies if you're not logged in. There's nothing particularly special about the way the site works.

I did a bit of reading and I think I know what the problem is: NPF stops your web browser from sending http referrer information. This means that a website cannot figure out where a user came from. My site is configured so that images will only display if the referrer is fox302.com. This was put in place to keep people from linking images on other websites (I was using several gigabytes per month simply hosting graphics in people's signatures on other forums).

I will try and edit my setup so that you can link to images with a referrer of either fox302.com, or nothing at all. This will still keep people from using images in other webpages, but won't screw up NPF user's view of the page.
