Why don't reviews ever mention where the product is made?

Personally I like to know where the things I am buying are made. It helps me make a good judgement call on whether the product truly lives up to spec and whether dishing out set amount of money on it is worth it. I find it really dumb that reviews, for any product, never say where the product is made.

Cars, helmets, motorcycles, jackets, whatever.

Anyone get frustrated by that too or what?

Why don't they just say "Made in China" or "Made in Germany"

lol is it just me or is your post first on here and mine 2nd?

Oh, and I personally go out of my way to not buy Chinese products. Also if there are 2 items like helmets for example for around the same price and one is made in China and the other is made in Japan, it's a no brainer for me which one is probably going to be superior quality.

Weird that you'd choose helmets.

It doesn't matter, anything, jackets, boots, shoes, car parts, etc. I used helmet's because I'm in the market for another helmet.

It pisses me off to have to search for the country of origin when buying products.

I go out of my way to buy products that are NOT Made in China...

1) USA-Union made
2) USA made
3) European made
4) Any other Free country
5) The rest of the world EXCEPT China
6) When I have NO other alternatives...China

Unfortunately, some products have no other sources than Chinese made...🙁

The Jews made them.

Wrong, but the Jews probably own the Chinese companies that do make them though. Plus making stuff requires physical labour.

Yup I am the same except for going out of my way for USA made products, I'm not American, but I will take those over Chinese products without a 2nd thought.

Because we assume China

Why does it matter? It's either up to spec or not. If the manufacturer has a good rep, why do you care where their employees happened to be born?

Can we get a list of countries that generally make good stuff and countries that don't?

Japan is great for everything. Germany is well regarded.
Taiwan is great for electronics? What about stuff like textiles, etc.
Columbia, Venezuala, Mexico, Vietnam, India, Philipines...

Because it's a given that most products are made in China.

Unfortunately, this.

I went through my closet and clothes drawer, and out of all the clothes I own, only the following were not made in China or SE Asia:

Nike zip-up hoodie c. 2000 (Canada :Q)
Nike dri-fit shirt c. 1998 (USA)
Nike dri-fit shirt (Israel)
Nike basketball shorts (USA)
2 Sugoi polyester running shirts (Vancouver - Canada)
Sugoi running shorts (Canada)
MEC Merino wool t-shirt c. 2008 (Canada)

MEC also has a lot of products made in China, but at least they regularly audit the factories to ensure fair wages and workers' rights.

Pretty much all of my CDs are pressed in Canada. Not sure about DVDs.

Almost all of my electronics are made in China (big surprise), except for a couple of older items (SNES, N64) made in Japan.

I too wish there were more options for buying local, but globalization has pretty much killed those opportunities for many products. I wouldn't mind buying foreign so much if I knew that workers were being fairly treated, but there are few companies which can claim this.

Wool products-UK and Ireland
Cutlery-UK, Germany, Japan(high end), USA
Work clothes-USA and ?
Footwear- USA, Germany, UK, Italy, Spain
Mechanical things- Germanic countries, USA
