School ended and our school had a faculty meeting on Thursday.
My co-worker and I were asked to join the communication session and it seemed a lot of people
complain about the need to communicate better. Now, mind you we have email available to ALL students
and teachers. So, why is it people are still confused as to how they can go about getting a hold of one another and letting everyone know the latest scoop pertaining to events in the school. Now the President of the school says email MUST be checked once a day. Everyone checks their personal accounts, but not their school's account. Hmmm ...

I worked my a$$ off creating a help page along with a FAQ forum to answer many of their questions. I even suggested to create a blog to publish the latest news regarding school activities, but they insist on killing more trees by photocopying things and sticking them in teacher's mailboxes. See, they dont check their mailboxes as often as they do while logged into a computer.

It's pathetic that school started in September and now everyone is complaining that they do not know how to use the gradebook. SIGH ... I'm not responsible for software support with this particular software, but it's sad that with all the literature that's available, people still say they don't know how to use it?!

Sometimes I wonder if the job is worth keeping. Too many needy people. I worked for a lab with 10 doctors. I thought they were bad, but these ppl are worse.

Enough ranting ...

true ... they want someone to hold their hands. Funny when someone calls and tells us their workstation froze. Only thing to do is to reboot it, but no, people want me to walk to their office and do it for them. I dont mind helping people, but i think it's ridiculous. I mean, what do they do at home? Call someone to come over to diagnosis a simple problem?

It's even been said that if you have to refer to documentation to use some bit of software, then said software has been poorly designed.

I admint, we have a couple of people like that, but the majority of our users check their personal accounts (yahoo, hotmail, comcast, etc ...). So why not check the school's account?

Running copies of these god damn "newsletters" everyday bothers me. Why not just have it on our intranet?

yes it is!!! this program has sooo many bugs, but it seems straightforward. A lot of hidden buttons.
