Why don't more places sell the Asus A7M266?

I see the A7A266 everywhere but none of the companies I like to deal with carry the A7M266 board. What's up with this?

I believe Asus officially replaced the A7M266 with the A7A266.

The A7A266 is Asus's flagship DDR Athlon board.

Stupid no?

I don't understand why Asus made this decision either, but the A7M266 is officially unsupported I think.

WTF? I thought that the A7M266 was supposed to be better than the A7A266.

Supply of the board is limited, supposedly due to AMD's low production output of the 760 chipset.

Uh, Noriaki, you got the boards mixed up.

A7A266 came out first and it uses ALi-Magik northbridge chipset. The A7M266 came out couple of months ago and uses the AMD 761 chipset which is superior in terms of performance.

A7A266 goes for about $130 and A7M266 goes for $180. A7M is on strong demand: I was on a waiting list for 2 weeks before I got the board.

I didn't mean to imply the A7A was *BETTER*, it's not better.
The A7M is better, but I seem to recall Asus saying that the A7A is meant to be their mainstream DDR board.

probably due to supply limitations of the AMD760 chipset like AndyHui said.

"Supply of the board is limited, supposedly due to AMD's low production output of the 760 chipset."

If there is a problem with the supply of AMD760 chipsets, why are their no problems getting boards like the Epox or MSI? I'm sure Asus makes alot of mobo's, but if it were supply problems, I would think it would affect all 760 boards...right?
