Why don't I get full speed in uTorrent?

I haven't forgotten the topic, I was just seeing what last few posts are saying, but I don't have any clue about port forwarding I am afraid to say.

Anyway, I have noticed something in past couple of days. I never actually monitored the desktop while a torrent downloads, I just keep doing my stuffs. But this is kinda interesting, or not, whatever. The torrent is actually being downloaded at full speed, because I noticed the NetWorx graph at task bar showing graph of full speed, so I used that software's Speed Meter and it showed that the torrent was downloading at full speed. But at the same time uTorrent was showing less transfer rates (upload and download speed combined). So I am confused as where is the rest of bandwith is going? I am sure its used by uTorrent too, but I don't know for what purpose.

I took a screenshot,

You can see qBittorrent shows 201 KB/s (194 download and 7 upload) while NetWorx shows 220 KB/s, which is almost full speed of my plan (230 KB/s).

So in this sense uTorrent was actually not downloading at any lesser speed than qBittorrent.

By the way, thanks a lot for that link which demonstrates how to make uTorrent AD free.

And about that port forwarding thing, I am confused with all the discussion. What should I do? Currently it's at default setting obviously.

OP,
It would appear that you have your upload speed set too low. Follow the directions on how to set it here: http://help.utorrent.com/customer/portal/articles/1753715-connection-guide

You need to make sure your client's port is open and correctly forwarded

What is your router's make/model? Once I know this, I can more or less guide you.

There are hundreds of methods on doing this. https://www.google.com/search?q=set...fe_rd=cr&ei=BNzCVOmrIo6t8wfN_ICACA&gws_rd=ssl

With that search and adding at least your maker, you should get a idea.

At worst, Im sure someone would be more than willing to TV to your PC and set it up for you.

Also what MadScientist; You should know your upload speed and configure the client with that in mind. In the young days of the bittorrent protocol, if you didnt set up your upload correctly, your download speed would get limited. What ISP are you using?

Okay thanks guys.

I am not in USA, so mentioning my ISP won't do any good to you guys right? I mean I don't know. Still mentioning, it's BSNL (probably the most third class government based ISP, whatever).

My router is a super old one, Netgear DG834G v3 (at least that's what is written at the backside of it, LOL). I am using this router for past six years if not more.

And about the upload speed, someone said that I need to set Upload speed at 40% of Download speed, and that's what I did there!
