I had a craving for some sea trading so I re installed Patrician IV from Steam and fired it up and right when the Kalypso intro video starts I hear a click in my headphones and suddenly all audio is cut off.
It doesn't come back until after I exit the game. So if I had some music playing on Spotify for example, it too would cut out to mute when game starts together with the game, and then comes right back on when the game is shut down.
It's a pretty old PC and I run plenty of old titles on it including from Kalypso like just recently was playing Jagged Alliance which has that same Kalypso intro video when it first starts but none of that audio cutting out issue.
Interesting thing is if I go into my sound settings and go to sound mixer, I see it shows Patrician IV under apps and the volume bar has a little bit of green that rises and falls indicating it is registering the audio from the game but I'm just not getting it to my headphones.
The headphones are Sony WH-CH510 connected via a ASUS USB-BT500 controller. I just updated the controller's drivers to no avail.
What could be going on?
