Just wondering about that..

Since everyone is starting to replace VCRs with them I wonder when they will finally have clocks on them

They aren't used for recording so what is the use for a clock. I would say to leave them off and save me the headache of programming them everytime the power goes out.

Isn't the pupose of the clock so u can set the VCR to record at a certain time? What function would it serve in a DVD player other than to tell you the time?

Well, to tell time would be nice.

A vcr is usually always visable when watching a TV, but the clock on the tv isnt always on.

It would still be nice if they had one. The clock on my VCR is the only one (besides the TV) in my living room and is the only one visible at all times. When DVD players replace VCR's for good it would be nice to have that same feature.

I actually read something somewhere that told how much extra you paid on your electric bill if you never set the VCR clock, just left the 12:00 flashing all the time (like we do...we're lazy). Pretty crazy how much extra you end up paying.

Personally because I don't need a clock on my DVD player as I have a clock radio for time/alarm purposes.

casue most people have VCRs? or people have a clock near anyhow?

Pfft, i don't even have a readable clock near my bed.

my amp does, it almost never loses time though, even when i move across the city. and my cable box does as well, it just gets the time over the cable. so i guess i don't really need a clock on the dvd.
