Why dont cell phone insurance companies have your phone model in file?

Wouldn't it be wise for them to have it in file then no one can just call them as say they lost a more expensive phone than they originally had?

When I got a new phone and contract and decided to get the insurance for the phone the guy had to fill out a section that listed what brand/model phone the insurance was for.

I have verizon and they never did that. They also ASK for your phone model when you claim it. pretty stupid if you ask me.
