asian-american here, I have to agree, I'd rather eat junk food.
But rice is good with certain foods.
I mostly don't like to eat rice because my mom stores all the rice in an old laundry detergent container, and the smell of the detergent gets into the rice, so the rice has a slight detergent taste and smell :disgust:
I prefer NOODLES, yes noodles, not pasta 😉

I like to eat rice and I never have to take any pills to digest it. Sounds like a crock to me. All you need to cook rice is a pot and some water. A rice cooker isnt any more expensive than say an electric frypan or a fancy toaster. Just go to wallmart and buy one. Probably about the same price as a Crock Pot. I like to buy big bags of rice from the Korean Grocery store.

Nothing like rice rolled up in toasted Sea Grass (KIM &amp; Rice).

I vote for rice.
