What does that have to do with anything? I'm European and it's absolutely natural to eat rice. We even grow rice.

Asians do eat pasta! In fact, they eat tons of it... except they choose to call it "noodles". My (Taiwanese) friend actually asked me what "pasta" means a few weeks ago.

My (Taiwanese) mother refused to eat potatoes when she first met/married my father. She didn't come from a rich family, but considered it to be peasant food.

My extended family and my Chinese/Taiwanese girlfriends see rice (or noodles) as a base for each meal, but what really makes the meal is the soup and side-dishes. My girly cousins and girlfriends often scold me for eating too much rice and not enough "dish".
 
i like rice
i would eat rice as either a main dish or main side dish 2-3 times a week if it was cooked for me
 
The bigger question is why RobCur doesn't eat more poison. It would help out society in a tremendous manner.

When I was a kid my mom served rice at least 2 - 3 times a week. I loved it then and still eat rice 2 - 3 times a week at least. As far as I know, most Americans do eat rice.

I can't say I've ever eaten crap, so I can't make a definitive argument against your experience.

If you're saying that rice tastes like crap, though, I'm thinking you're not making the rice correctly.

I didn't like rice when I was a kid. It seemed like rice didn't taste like anything at all--like eating water. I wouldn't go so far as saying crap, though.

Rice isn't suppose to be eaten by itself, only poor farmers back in china do that. It is suppose to be the main... stomach stuffer that you consume along w/ the main dishes. Chinese food has really strong flavors and eating them straight up is not very good, so chinese people "dilute" the flavor w/ rice to a nice taste.
