Paper bills only have an average lifespan of 3 months?

I prefer bills over change in my pocket, but the lifespan of coins probably outweighs the fact that they're bothersome.

Hah, ok, so I guess I was exaggerating a little when I said three. What I meant to say(after googling) is 18 months, but the fact remains that coins last much much longer than paper bills ever will.

Two more reasons to crush Canada! Gay-colored-pretend money and continued use of a $2 denomination! :p

What are you thinking? We in the U.S. also have a $2 bill. Just because you don't see it every day doesne't mean it is nonexistant.

Except this is a quarter so :p

nope. would be using it if it weren't for the silly femmys

Put patton on a coin. People respect him too much to not spend him. Women on coins get kept where they belong, in a drawer in the kitchen!

Las time i went to the U.S. i just couldn't believe a currency so used was still made out of paper not metal.
The canadian 1$ and 2 $ are coins
The european 1E and 2E are coins

and it's soo much easier to buy a pepsi with a coin than with an old dollar bill through that slot reader.
(I never understood Homer Simpson for hating that vending machine...)

Oh and look at our scary looking 50$ Bill(yet to be released) 20$ is scarier(and already comes out our ATMs)

Um, er.. I'd be shocked if it hasn't been mentioned already, but we do have a 1$ coin.

All the mass transit ticket machines give them out as change around here.

Whatever happend to the "franklin dollar" or "washington dollar"?

It was a goldish looking dollar coin that came out a few years ago. There was even some publicity adds for it.

I'll have to find it then. There was a whole slew of adds for it by the US mint. I believe I received some from purchasing stamps at the post office.

-edit- nevermind.

George Washington was the "spokesperson" for promoting the "golden dollar" which is the sacagawea coin.

I have a 2002 $2 bill. I think it's 2002. It's > 2000. So they are still in production.

EDIT: I have two 1995's and one 2003 $2 bill.
