ok i am typing on my new box which i just built today, specs are here.

when i try to overclock and it doesn't POST, the power button on my Antec SX830 won't shut down the computer, i have to pull the plug. why is this?

oh, and here's the thread about my Duron overclocking problems 🙁 it's a 600 and won't do 650 with 1.7V 🙁

thanks 🙂

Yeah, my computer does the same thing. Most motherboards now have this new power function built in (I forgot what it's called), but anyway, if you can't get the system to shut off then just press and hold the power button on the case for like 4 seconds and the system will shut off. I finally discovered this after crawling under my desk to unplug the power supply quite a few times.

Sorry, can't help you with the Duron problems.....I'm running an Intel.

The 4-second switch is a thing that became standard with ATX power. I've grown to like it more than the hit the switch and immediate off method. Can't give any reasons for this, but I just do. There's often a BIOS option though that you can change so that the system will power down as soon as you hit the switch. Should be under power management.
