Why doesn't the moderator move tech support Q's to the Tech Support forum?

I thought this forum was general hardware discussion, but it seems like every other thread is a tech support question. The moderator(s) seems eager to lock or move non-hardware related threads, except tech support threads. What's up with that?

speaking of off topic...

the tech support questions are hardware related as long as they are hardware tech support ;)

Edit: Damn! I was beat by seconds.

Because this forum gets the most traffic, & they're posting HARDWARE problems, not software problems.

Let me quote the description for this forum: "General Computer Hardware Discussion. This is the place to discuss the latest computer hardware issues and technology. Please keep the discussion ON TOPIC, and covering computer hardware ONLY."

I looked hard, but I don't see the words "tech support" in the above. I do see the words "tech support" in another forum, which seems to me the right place to ask tech support questions. If people can post tech support questions here, why even have a tech support forum?

Finally, just because this forum gets the most traffic isn't a valid reason for posting tech support questions here. That rationale could justify ANY sort of post.

Why bring this up? Because I'm tired of wading through tons of tech support posts to read about general computer hardware. They greatly increase the message turnover.

Ever try posting in a lot of other forums here? You're lucky if you get a response. Its just a matter of fact that the General Hardware Forum is the best, imho. A lot more ppl visit it.

A lot of these people are having "issues".
