Why doesn't my conitor turn off after 2 minutes like it's supposed to?

In power saving mode, I have it set to turn teh monitor off after 2 minutes, but sometimes it does nothing. I've heard of problems with sleep mode, but this is jist monitor off, umm, mode.

If you combine the words con, and insult, you get consult. Maybe he thinks the monitor company is trying to pull one over on him?

Actually, i have my dell 8600 to shut the monitor off after 2 minutes only when AC powered, i have had no problems, the screen always goes dark after 2 minutes.
Good luck with that.
Have u tried changing that to a different length of time and testing it, might be worth a shot!

Yes, thank you ajpa. I have changed the number of minutes to no avail.

do you have any 'tweak programs where you can change settings on your comp'
You may have over-ridden the defaults there.
