Why doesn't MS works word processor work with MS word?

Why doesn't the school's computer recognize MS works wordprocessor? I saved my papers as a word pad. Should I be able to print this up when I get to my college Will I be safe now?

Use openoffice (it can save in Word format, and is free)

:thumbsup: RTF is about as universal as an office format gets (not counting .txt, of course).
