Why doesn't MS works word processor work with MS word?

Why doesn't the school's computer recognize MS works wordprocessor? I saved my papers as a word pad. Should I be able to print this up when I get to my college Will I be safe now?

save as Rich Text Format.

Use openoffice (it can save in Word format, and is free)

Just save in .rtf (Rich text format) and you should be good on all computers.

:thumbsup: RTF is about as universal as an office format gets (not counting .txt, of course).
