Why Doesn't Evolution Get Rid of Ugly People?

Gravity is still a theory too, both are facts, it's known without a doubt that they natures laws at work, but exactly HOW they work, well that is a theory.

A theory in science is not like any other theory though, and it does not graduate one day and become a law, a theory is the means known even if the knowledge is not complete yet.

A theory is constantly tested and IF disproven it will change, falsifiability is one of the cornerstones in science.

Meh, it started out alright (not including the stupid reproduction skit at the very beginning) but just got too ridiculous to watch after about an hour for me. I like Judge and thought the premise was kooky enough to work, but it was just too stupid to bare after a while! lol

That's a play on words. A Scientific "Theory" is as close to a fact as science can get.

Not really. Take String Theory. Lots of strange ideas in String theory, like wormholes, alternate dimensions, multiple big bangs. People have yet to prove string theory too.

Gravity is a LAW. Relativity is a good example of a theory that is almost as good as law.

What is funny/alarming/said/i-dunno is that we believe in evolution and natural selection but we are not paying attention to the possible long term implications for the human species.

In history past diseases that are now treatable (but genetically curable) significantly shortened one's lifetime and possibly made it difficult to procreate.

Now... a lot more genetically "unhealthy" people are living longer and living well and propagating 'bad genes" to their children and so on. In times past, natural selection would have weeded them out through a naturally short lifespan or other means.

I am simply making an observation... I think that every human being has a right to best life they can obtain.

But this also why I feel that genetic engineering may prove vital to the future of mankind. Without it, the human species is going to evolve into two sub species... one that is more intelligent, healthier, and better looking and that is sickly, less intelligent, and not as good looking. Of course, there would some crossover... but still, by and large, that is where the human species is heading in the long, long run.

No it's not. Humans will become non-biological long before artificial selection has any substantial impact. And this isn't the long long run, this is the short short run, this century. Natural selection won't even make a dent of an impact.
