why doesnt audit show up on my XP Pro machine at home?

I have audting turned on for my work machine which is running XP Pro. how ever after i set the auting in the MMC and then go to the folder to audit the audit function is not there. In fact the secuity tab is not there.

what gives?

Then what do you need auditing for?

Things to look at would be if you are running NTFS or if Simple File Sharing is turned on.
