why doesn't anandtech accept hotmail accounts?

i tried to sign up using my hotmail account but it said that no i cannot do that. i had to use a redirect just to register here.........now the redirect is shutting down because my website with them is no longer up. can somebody please tell me why i can't use my real account without going through a redirect?

My guess would be that it's too easy for someone to open up numerous fake accts on Hotmail so they can open up numerous dummy/troll accts here.

it was mainly for the FS/T forum. mods have a harder time tracking down trolls if they're dummy emails. you can't use safeweb or aol either

Hotmail = troll central. Since it's free, and anonymous, anyone can sign up and troll AND nef.

So teh hotmail = banned.

well how do you know that people will have an email account from the ISP? people on dialup don't get ISP mail accounts so they are forced to use hotmail or msn or yahoo and so on.

I'm on dialup, I have an email account through my ISP, plus I have an account w/ Hotmail. I use the account I have through my ISP, at AnandTech. -kd5-

No dial up ISP that I'd consider doesn't offer at least 1 email address. If your ISP can't provide this basic feature, that's too bad for you, not too bad for me.

i have 5 ISP emails but they don't work, the 1 account that does work is spammed by every piece of crap you can think of because my entire family is retarded. "free prize, oh let's sign up" GOD that's why i don't tell them my email account.

what about @aol.com? people on aol get those kinds of email accounts but aol.com is a troll place too, i could sign up for one of those in 5 minutes and i'm not even on dialup.

yes but you have to pay to keep the AOL account, so if it's brand-new people know not to FS/FT with you.
