Why doesen't remote desktop work?

I have 2 servers running win2k sp4. Both have 2 gigs of ram. One server, the PDC, I can access via remote desktop no problem from my xp professional workstation. The other, which is a domain controller, gives the following message when I try to connect:
"the client could not connect to the remove computer.

Remote connections might not be enabled or the computer might be too busy to accept new connections..."

I have not been able to find anything on connecting to a win2k server from xp using RDP. Can anyone point me in the right direction or layout what needs to be done so I can use RDP to manage this server.

Thanks for any help,

Maureen

wk2 rdp? remote desktop is a xp/vista thing. For w2k server, you will need to install terminal services in add/remove windows components.

The protocol is still RDP.

Make sure you choose administration mode when installing it through add/remove.

Firewall or disabled in local policy on the server?

And yes, you have to have Terminal Services loaded.

Ah...thanks all. Maybe it's terminal services or admin mode. I am using remote desktop to control one win2k server right now I'm just not sure what I'm missing (I inherited these servers). I am using an XP pro machine to remote from however.

This gives me more to work with so thanks again everyone,

maureen
