Why does Yahoo Mail tell me I have mail when I don't?

This is getting annoying. I log into my Yahoo, and it says that I have email. I go check to see if I have mail and I don't! This has been going on for a long time. The only time its goes away is when I have to check then refresh my yahoo page.

has this happened to anyone else?

i remember it used to happen to me sometimes last year. i can't remember how i fixed it though. I think i reinstalled yahoo messenger or something

This sometimes happens

More than likely, a piece of SPAM nested itself deep within your mailbox, like in the back of it, and you have to find it and delete it.
It wont show up first for some reason.
