Why does this NEC LCD VESA Hole Spec. say 100/75mm ?

I'm shopping for an LCD but I thought they will be either 100mm or 75mm configurations. Yet, this NEC/Mitsubishi LCD has theirs listed this way:

VESA Hole Configuration Spec.
100/75mm

Picture of standard

Photo of back of said LCD at newegg.

Also, since I'm custom building a desk I'm going to use a metal plate through which I need to drill holes to attach to both the LCD and the back of a "windowing" frame. I've never seen a commercial VESA mounting plate so I'm hoping for no surprises.

Most likely it means that both 75mm and 100mm mounting holes exist. I suspect the photos are outdated or wrong.

You could try the NEC/Mitsubishi home page. They might have additional details. Your best bet is to simply wait and see what the back looks like before you go designing custom mounts.
