Why Does the Jewish Community Vote Democrat?

I'm serious, aside from the Jewish influence in hollywood, why does the Jewish population as a whole fight so hard to put democrats in office?

Clinton was clearly in favor the Arabs in the peace accords (as was I) and leaned hard on the Israelis. Yet they still come out voting for Gore.

Bush wont even let a diplomat go to the UN confrence becuase of the "negative Zionism focus".

So I have to ask, why do the Jewish people support the Democrats so often when the policy on Israel is completely reversed?

or something of an apathetic feeling toward other historically downtrodden groups

The Chrisitian and Jewish people are often on the same side when it comes to morality.

GOOD FOR YOU!!!! A question I have asked many times.

Does it have anything to do with the Holocost or WWII? I really dont know but have often wondered. Why after the turnaway by the US of the Jewish refuge ship?

By the way, it seems it is the OLDER Jewish population that votes that way, no neccessarily the younger.

well i dunno, it seems like jews are more concerned with education and less with defense... which is a possible reason they like the democrats. also i think they are scared by republicans talking about all the tax cuts they're going to give.

The "Dumbing down of America" (ie Johnsons Great Society) with lowered requirements for graduation took place under the Democrats. How does this equate with a concern for highr education?

Reform Jews tend to be quite liberal as a group. Conservative and Orthodox Jews, OTOH, are one of the strongest blocs on the conservative side. I don't know what, if any, conclusions can be drawn from this, however.

because in this day in age, democrats seem to be more concerned with education spending than republicans.

Interesting observation.

Thanks to you and Max who brought up the younger Jewish people point. 2 sides I should have considered.

Well the teacher's unions want the gravy train to keep going with next to no accountability for themselves.

O'Reilly reported that over one BILLION (with a b) was lost under Clinton's cronies yet instead of looking into those problems, democrats want to throw even more money at the problem. That doesn't work and it never will.

Also, 40% of black students under 3rd grade cannot read, another Clinton statistic.

Cause democrats will kiss their Jewish butts. Also, most Jewish people are liberal (at least the ones I've met in California) so it may just be because it goes with their lifestyles.

No one said you were. I'm only pointing out the fallacy of more money solving any problem.

both sides want more education spending. its just how its allocated. the democrats want more of it determined by the feds, and the republicans want more of it determined by states and districts. this whole "republicans want less education spending" this is complete and utter horse sh!t.

This is a typical of the Democrats. Throw enough money at the problem and it will fix it!!! At least it will fix it if it is not their money.

What a farce!!! Paying higher salaries to Teachers, for instance, will not make any teacher better and while it may attract a better grade of Teachers in the future it just rewards the ones who just put in their time. Look at School Superintendants. They hire them for money no administrator should earn and then complain about how much Doctors and PhD researchers, who really contribute to the general welfare, earn.

ummm, maybe because Democrats believe people should have a say in the workplace and in other areas of life.

Republicans believe that a CEO is somehow superior and therefore should be a dictator of the company they run regarding environmental and workplace rules....that effect so many people....who the Republicans think should have no say in what affects them.

Remember the Jews were forced to work as slaves in Nazi Germany.

I think it is because the older Jewish population remembers the Democratic party under JFK when it was more like the Republican party of today.
