why does the google checkout(10 dollars off) not work for me?

so this is the first time i'm trying this.

I find an item that is 10.00 @ buy.com. add it to my cart, and it gives me the option to pick 'google checkout.' I clicked that button, sign up, enter my credit card information, and when I go to the next page, it still shows the full price?

no 10 dollars off?

It's been a while since I used mine, but it seems like the google checkout discount came later.

if you already have a gmail account, adding a credit card might not give you 10 dollars off. Try log out of your gmail account, and then go through the process of setting up a new account. Also, it must be greater then 10 dollars not including shipping and tax, if i remember correctly.
