When you're arrested and are being released, why does someone always have to pick you up? Why can't the police just let you go out on your own?

People get walked out of the county jail her in Central FL all the time. I used to work about four miles down from the jail. Guys get let out at all hours and start walking down the road if they have no ride. During the day they can catch the bus and the jail used to give them like 5-10 bucks for bus fair and one meal but if the buses aren't running or they want to keep their cash they hump it.

The place I worked, being the first real big "thing" along the way was the first place they stopped, so at night they try to break in and steal things or during the day they harass people on the property for money, etc.

Not always, they usually just let me go out, but they tend to be watchful until I leave the property.

One time they even drove me, but that's because I was just being moved into a higher security facility.

B/c you're still a minor, that's why. When you become an adult, you'll learn that next time you get arrested, you can be released on your own recognizance.

Minors have to be released to an adult.

I have always just been let out. This really sucked when my car went to jail.

I've always said the same thing about the several colonoscopies Ive had. They wont let you have one unless someone accompanies you. Supposedly the hospital doesnt want to get sued because you were under general anesthetic that day and they wont just let you drive even after a long nap. And no, a chauffered limousine doesnt qualify for some stupid reason.
