Why does Part II of Back to the Future rarely get played?

I was watching Back to the Future and part III this morning, is part II the bastard child of the trilogy or something? I never did understand this?

eh, i think 3 is the worst of them, 2 was originally intended - 3 was just an add on to make more money once they decided that 2 was worth making, and it seems to show it

Actually I love part 2, I would say on par with 1. 3 is obviously by far the worst.

They played part 2 before part 3 last night. I caught the end of it. But I agree..it is the bastart child of the trilogy because it isn't as good as 1 or 3.
