Why does nobody really use the word "cooky"?

Candy/Candies.

Cooky/Cookies.

However, normally I see "I'll have a cookie please." For some reason we've fallen away from using the word cooky. We need to use this more. Me too!

I thought cooky meant a person that was sort of nuts, not a delicious treat.

Cooky doesn't work for some reason, just looks wrong..hehe.

While cooky is an accepted variant of the much more commonly used cookie, cooky just looks wrong.
