Why does Nickelback Suck?

Nickelback FTW. Their radio songs get overplayed like a bitch on ruffies (sp?), but their other songs on the album are generally great IMO.
 
Being a musician, I think they're actually one of the more talented bands out there. They have a good 70's influence, and their lyrics aren't the normal "ooohh ooohh baby she loves me yeah yeah".

Nickleback's "Figured You Out" is a great example. That song has some attitude, and it's contains adult subjects without throwing them in your face.
 
i like nickelback. what i hate are the songs they play out on the radio. but on their last album, i very much like: follow you home, fight for all the wrong reasons, and saving me, animals.

Definitely, i'm a musician too they are very good at capturing emotion with coming out and saying "I'm mad, I'm sad."
 
Back in 2001 I was on the phone with Gateway's technical support (shudders at the memory) and they put me on hold... so some stupid hold crap designed to keep me pacified goes on about pop culture mumbo jumbo... anyway they start talking about Nickelback and how they are from Vancouver. So basically it says they got their name because Chad Kroger used to work at a coffee shop and customers would give him a dollar for coffee and he would give them a nickel back. Hence the name "Nickelback". I just remember thinking, "wow, thats lame".

The lyrics are ok, abeit very very very whiney, its how they are sung that I can't stand.
It makes me change the station or turn my radio off.
 
I like their sound, but don't listen to them too much(don't listen to radio either). The first time I really listened to "Last Contestant" I was like "WTF?", but then got a chuckle from it.

Just FYI, they suck in concert, their lead singer is a nub. Before every song he feels the need to tell you what drugs he was on when he wrote the song. Who cares, this isnt high school. You dont look cool by telling everyone you are a druggie
