Does anyone know why I hear a voice talking when I boot my pc ?
I just installed my new K7TPRO 2 from MSI.
I didn't have this problem with the K7TPRO
Thanks .

It's not a problem, it's a feature...

I think you can choose the language in the BIOS, & probably disable it as well.

The same elves that turn the windshield wipers when it rains? Well I'll be damned, they sure are talented. Multilingual too... can't believe they didn't take over the world yet.

I hear voices sometimes too...

However, mine are always saying: Nooo don't turn off the computer it is not bedtime yet... Stay and play more games.... You must play more solitare....

"dave, what are you doing" 🙂

Its a feature and not a problem. unless it annoys you.

I think it's comforting when i hear the voice saying "System Available" but i'd rather hear it say... "Here's a billion dollars!"

You can change the language from English to Chinese using link #11 on the board (it's by one of the PCI slots). There is a thread somewhere that tells you how to disable the voice inside. It took me a while to work out what it was saying (it didn't help that it was Chinese by default). I had the side off my case and I was looking at the little LEDs flashing red and green and suddenly it said something... So I had to reboot about ten times to work out what it was saying... Perhaps on their next mobos they can have an option that allows you to record your own greetings...

It's really too bad that I can't understand a thing that the voice says.. Seems to say it when it boots into Windows or when I overclock too high or something.. Screen goes black and I hear the voice.

I think you would need to worry if the coumputer started arguing with itself...and loosing, of course....
Does it yell when you slouch too?

can anyone understand it... does it play through the pc speaker? i wonder if i'll be able to hear it over all my loud fans 😛

Does it go through the pc speaker or my computer speakers connected to the sound card? I don't have any speakers connected to the sound card yet and it sure ain't coming out of my sound card. I think I have one of the newer boards because they don't have the pins there anymore. I can't use a jumper to choose the language no more... if the feature is still included at all. Is it in the bios? I want that system available VOICE!!! Damnit I was looking forward to it...
