Why does my memory usage keep increasing?

I am running Win 2K w/ 256MB memory, and of course Rc5 24/7 on my 1.35GHz Tbird system. I have been using the pc for just web surfing and email lately since I have been so busy. Since I leave the PC on 24/7 to crack RC5 blocks, I have noticed that after the 3rd day of being on my memory usage jumps up. I have a swap file of 500MB and it seems that my total physical memory after a reboot is 120000K, and right now it is 261616K, 155408K available, and 100092 system cache. I have 29 processes going right now w/ only 2 application physically open. I do NOT have an antivirus installed either.

What gives?

Uh oh, maybe RC5 is out of control. 🙂
Got it set to run in RAM only? Could you be filling up a huge cache of crunched blocks?

Here is my dnetc.ini file:

[parameters]
id=xxxxx@cox-internet.com

[misc]
project-priority=RC5,OGR=0,DES=0,CSC=0

[rc5]
fetch-workunit-threshold=1600
preferred-blocksize=33
randomprefix=14

I thought of that, but if I "update and flush" the buffer the memory usage doesn't seem to change.

If I shut RC5 down the memory usage barely changes. Right now it is 261616 K total, 147732 available, 104872 system cache

Mem usage shows 236252K, cpu usage 0
