Why does my laptop's wireless connection hiccups once every 2 weeks?

Ok I have 2 laptops on Linksys wireless router. One of the laptops just works seamlessly with the router. I have turned off SSID broadcast and made WEP mandatory. The laptop that doesn't work is an IBM R40 with the wireless card builtin. Every 2 weeks or so, the wireless connections quits working. It can detect the connection just fine, and can even renew the IP address, but it can't reach any other computer on the network.

To fix it, I just fiddle around with the settings, change somethings, restart and in the end bring everything back to as it was before. Then it just starts working fine. I just don't get it.

Something I've noticed about the newer lynksis wireless routers (S3 or later) is that they seem to go unstable after long uptimes... Usually I reach for them first when I install networks for clients, but their reliability has slipped so much latley with that regard that I'm usually reaching for netgars now...

I guess you may have to get used to hitting the reset button on the back more often. :-? srry.
Good luck pal
