Why does my GF enjoy hanging out with my family?

Maybe her own family life isn't fun anymore? Maybe she just likes them as people? Maybe she is trying to get in with your family b/c she thinks you have a future?
 
This is the only part of the relationship that my girlfriend has a lot of trouble with. My family lives 400 miles away, and it really kills her that she can't bond with them. I don't understand why its such a big deal, but she talks about it constantly.
