my computer keeps rebooting when it's hot in my room. (it's fine in the early morning, and late nite.)

i installed motherboard monitor v5. everytime the cpu temp > 115F, it would reboot.

cpu = boxed sempron 2500 (amd supplied the cpu fan)

in bios, system shutdown on target temp is not enabled. besides, machine reboots as if you hit the reset button, and not shutdown.

my case has a rear fan, plus a side fan.

I also dual monitor so i have 2 video cards:
gf4 4200 (agp)
radeon 32meg aka radeon 7200 (pci)

i dont think it's software since it doesn't have problems when it's cool.

Is 115F that hot?! (Yes farenheit, and not celcius)

Why does my machine reboot?! And any suggestions?!

THX!

What kind of power supply do you have. Wattage, brand?

115 F should be fine, where is this measurement coming from, BTW?

If it's rebooting at a certain temperature (as opposed to random restarts), it's because something is telling it to. Check the bios first for any alarms settings.
Do you have any MB related programs running? These might have an auto s/d setting that is causing it.

really? it's not cpu/mobo related?

i have a 400w ps, or at least thats what the label says. (it's an el cheapo case.)

i switched out the stock cpu fan w/a volcano. cpu temp never went above 111F and computer never rebooted. but the room was hotter than yesterday.

is it still power supply related?

no, it's not rebooting at exactly 115F everytime.

it ranges anywhere from 115F to 118F.

no, i dont have any monitoring software turned on that i know of. unless WinXP has a setting that;s turned on by default???

bing bang bing, cheap power supply

Eliminate this first with a quality power supply and see if you still have problems.
