Hello All,

I have a

p4EE 3.2
ati 9800xt
abit ic7g
maxtor 160gb sata 8m
1g corsair twinx (with led's)
sound blaster audigy

and for some reason, it loads slower than my previous computer (2.4ghz)

I notice that the hard drive light doesn't even start to light up until the windows status loading bar goes accross like 4 times.

Help! :)

Just a guess but it is probably waiting for "something". If you have an onboard NIC and are not using it, the system may be trying to find a connection from it. If you disable the NIC in the bios, the startup will be faster.

Thanks for your reply,

It's just that the nic is used and plugged into a router... any other ideas?

You may want to give the Nic a static Ip, that seems to help boot times and pauses in browsing alot.
