Why does my cat lick the floor of the shower...?

Frick`in Siamese cat named Squeak (about what her meyow sounds like most of the time) does this every time I get out of the shower...?

Water doesnt really bother her... Also she has 2 different bowls to drink from but this is sort of ritual to her...?

Whats up with that...?

Sorry but this cat is not stupid...? I can whistle and she will come just like a dog... Also it seems I am the only person she is attached to (basicly like a Chow or Pitbull)... And for not having front claws she is an awesome predator... I am really a dog person but this cat kinda attached herself to me a few years ago (former EX`s cat) and this is her home...

the shower thing just gets me...?

Ah... sorry I posted then say your reply but yes she used to climb up on the vanity and while I brushed my teeth liked to drink from the faucet kinda like a kitty fountain... 🙂

Jack Bauer is my hero

Uh your stupid... (sorry just made me think of this...)

Gotta listen to Bob & Tom for when he (Jack Bauer likeness) calls in... Better than Bill Clinton calling in...

Like posted up thread, they like fresh water. If they find water in their bowl stale, they'll sometimes stir it with one of their paws. It's usually fresh in my house, though I've seen them do it once or twice in the year I've had my cats.

Shadowknight... thanks for your answer...

But do wonder sorta still, I asked my wife about this and just found out that cat also gets in the tub/shower of our other bathroom (the wife`s) and not only does she lick the water she plays in the tub... She will run and slide on the tub surface but only if the shower curtain is pulled closed...?

As for cats are stupid, so are people but stupid is as stupid does... 😉

Because you pee in the shower, and the cat likes the taste...😉

I have a 10 year old cat who does the same thing. When she was a baby, she'd pull the door open and take a shower with me...nowdays, (I guess she finally figured out that she's a cat) she waits till I get out, THEN gets in and licks the water off the bottom of the tub.

you and your wife have separate bathrooms 😕

that cat might be hitting on your wife 😛

I don't think I've ever had a cat that didn't like to play in the bathroom/shower.

Plus if they ever need fresh water there's always the toilet. Mine freak out when the toilet is flushed. WOOT! Fresh water....everybody come here quick and watch it flush!

About cat's being stupid. I have a command for them when I refill their water bowl. Just say "Fresha!" and they all come ready for their fresha.

Because cats like fresh water. They will do the same thing if you run water in the sink.

Assuming they don't absolutely freak out whenever they see a sink. I can't hold my cats in the bathroom - they keep watching the sink, toilet, and bathtub with wide eyes, their claws out and at the ready. And if there's any kind of running water in any of the said places, they just go nuts and have to be put down.

My cats like eating spider webs and licking wooden surfaces. The one cat, after getting his small serving of canned food each day, would go down to a rug in the basement and make a distinct howling sound. Maybe it's a, "Dear Diary, I was fed again today, and it was great!" It was only ever after supper like that, too, never after he'd eat dry food. Cats are just weird.

The same cat that did his daily post-supper howling started a similar ritual. He seemed to have trouble seeing the surface of the water - he'd always wind up plunging his nose right in. Somehow he figured out to paw at the edge of the bowl, which made ripples in the water so he'd know exactly where the surface was at. He never touched the water though.

last night I found a kitten at the base of the tree where my friendly local possum lives, the kitten could see the possum up the tree and was staring up at it. I had to shush the kitten away, the possum would have ripped it to threads. Then the kitten went racing down the path and disappeared, so I am assuming it is the new cat in town and belongs to one of my neighbors.

My Siamese cat does the same thing. I belive its just because it perfers fresh water to water that sits for a few days...

This may be more true than you realize.

Maybe OP left out some details (or then again, maybe better left unsaid...)
