I just noticed this while I was flipping around in the BIOS looking for anything related to my slow SSD. This is an msi p67a-c45 with an i7 2600k processor.
My memory (this one) defaults to 1066mhz in the BIOS, with CAS settings of 7-7-7-20. But it's supposed to be 1333mhz, with CAS settings of 9-9-9-24. The BIOS reports that the SPD is for 1066mhz. When I tried setting the memory speed to 1333mhz, the system became unstable.
Thoughts or ideas? Does it even make a difference? The last time I looked at anything related to memory speeds, it was at least loosely related to the processor speed, but that doesn't seem to be the case with this system.
