sour milk will NOT hurt you or make you sick, it just tastes different than you are used to

as long as you can get it down, go for it

Yup, there are recipes that specifically call for soured milk.

Viper GTS

Yup.....they call it cheese.

No, it's called Buttermilk.

What? I thought buttermilk was a different thing.
It is. Buttermilk is just milk that still contains the fat that they make butter with, IIRC. It hasn't been removed. It doesen't have anything to do with bacterias acting in the milk.

What an absolutely astonishingly Low collective dairy knowledge quotient in this thread. mooo-hoo!

Didn't you ever watch Ghostbusters II? It's because of all the negatively charged ectoplasmic slime flowing through the abandoned tunnel system underground.

Buttermilk is what's left after the butterfat comes out of the milk. google is your friend Or, as the link says, it's the watery end-product of butter making.

Sour milk and buttermilk are often used interchangably in recipes because both have a certain "tanginess" that adds dimension to cooking.

Ah, the joys of growing up on a farm and having neighbors/relatives who cook.
