Clinton with the upper cut
WASHINGTON (AP) -- New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton lashed out at Ann Coulter for a "vicious, mean-spirited attack" on a group of outspoken 9/11 widows, whom the right-wing television pundit described as "self-obsessed" and enjoying their husbands' deaths.

Coulter writes in a new book, "Godless: The Church of Liberalism," that a group of New Jersey widows whose husbands perished in the World Trade Center act "as if the terrorist attacks happened only to them."

She also wrote, "I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much."

Clinton, who has felt Coulter's wrath over the years, responded angrily on Wednesday.

"Perhaps her book should have been called 'Heartless,"' the senator said.

It's a given that Coulter is a skanky, loon that manages the tremendous feat of being uglier on the inside than she is on the outside. But why do morning shows book her? Is it really that appealing to hear her speak in the same manner as she maintains her weight?

Coulter appeared Tuesday on NBC's "Today" show, and reiterated her stance, saying the women used their grief "to make a political point."
Uhh . . . hmm . . . I haven't heard a SINGLE utterance by a Republican . . . attempting to use the tragedy of 9/11 for political gain!:Q

Her criticism was aimed at four New Jersey women whom she dubbed "The Witches of East Brunswick," after the town where two of them live.
Fair enough . . . but wrong movie . . . Coulter should realize these women are North while she's East-West.

Over the hill slut spews hate and vile for right wing idiots, no surprise there. How she gets air time on TV (besides Fox) is beyond me.

Zentroll must have a poster of her in his mommy's basement.

Where was your outrage over Fatty McBeeferson's forum?

The media does this because people watch, if people stopped watching, they wouldnt give Ann Coltier a forum to speak.

I guess Bill Maher is laying the wood to her anymore so she's taking out her frustrations on women who lost their husbands during a terrorist attack.

They provide forums for the Coulters of the world because it attracts viewers...both those outraged by what they say, and those who support them.

You want to make the rhetoric spewing ideologues disappear...ignore them.

Well you know, I keep trying, but damn it all if conservatives aren't buying Coulter's books like hurricane victims buy plywood. I can see why Coulter attracts outrage, but why support? Can it really be true that THAT many conservatives support such crazy, viscious bullshit? I certainly hope not...

I think this is why many left leaning Americans do not understand the Christian conservative base.

People will grasp on to those who reflect their belief structure, even if they deviate into territory that seems a bit absurd.

Having lived in Bible belt territory for short stints, I understand what motivates these people a little bit better then most. The communities these people live in are very much bubbles, and the perception throughout is that American society as a whole is witnessing a moral deterioration.

That being said, these communities were also very caring and quite nice compared to many of the cities I have lived in...how often does a real estate agent invite you over to his home for dinner over a weekend because he knows you are new to town...then again, how many real estate agents list proximity to a church as being a plus for a rental property.

These communities are not fixated on gay marriage and abortion, contrary to popular belief...but many of the people living in these communities have very strong convictions about both issues.

I don't think it is so much that conservatives, particularly the religious right, support such crazy, viscious crap...but they support or respect those who speak out against what they believe to be a culture of political correctness and far left nonsense...as far as they are concerned, people like Coulter and Limbaugh are the only voice they have in a media they perceive as controlled by the left...therefore, they are willing to forgive Pat Robertson or Anne Coulter when they stray into bizarre territory.

Kind of like how the left tends to be very forgiving of Michael Moore's and Rob Reiner's antics...all birds of the same feather.

And that mentality is very dangerous. Coulter and Limbaugh go off and try to make themselves into martyrs to rally people to thier cause, which is more or less an evangelical theocracy.

Anne Coulter is a hateful, spiteful shrew of a woman who is apparently extremely unhappy with life.
Everything out of her mouth is hate.
It would be nice if her current spew were to so isolate her she would be relegated to the fringe media. Unfortunately under the current climate in this country her invective is mistaken for political debate.
Really, who is more dangerous to America? Terrorists or Anne Coulter's ideas?
The answer is Anne Coulter, if her ideas ever became the majority.

No argument there...but if you want to reach out and touch their audiences, it is perhaps better to understand their motivations as opposed to dismiss them as ignorant hicks...doing so only further isolates them to the extent that it reinforces behaviors that are ultimately counter productive to our society...and why we have a legislature wasting precious time and resources on a futile gay marriage ban amendment.

There needs to be some fact checking in the media everytime a pundit left or right comes on. Especially for crap like Ann so she does not get away with selling books to the morons who fall for her outrageous claims and bullshit statements.

P.S. I have a feeling that others like Michelle Malkin will try to out sleeze Ann. How else are these people going to sell books ?

At least Michael Moore attempts(not always successful) to use humor and irony when he slams the right.....Little Miss Annie just likes to plain lash out in anger.

Any chance these women can sue her for slander?

They definitely should. It's high time Coulter got what's coming to her, and then some. Her books have ALL be espoused as overblown pacts of lies, misrepresentations, and flat out hate speak. She would be insignificant, if only the 'liberal' media finally got on her case. Unfortunately, she, as the consummate media whore, is a money-maker for them, and you'll only hear Air America defending Americans from her horrible, inexcusable words.

As a life long Southerner of mixed heritage, I can say without reservation that there's nothing "special" about the South. People are NOT particularly honest, nice, God-loving, etc. It's urban legend . . . rural-style.

It wasn't a fringe element in the Klan. It wasn't a fringe element that led to Jim Crow. The Congress had to literally write NEW friggin' laws to get Southern states to abide by basic tenets of the Constitution.

The worst part is these people breed . . . a lot. They then pass backwards "morals" from one generation to the next. The modern Republican party is the single largest repository for the spawn of past intolerance and hatred. Democrats aren't necessarily wonderful . . . Bob Byrd notwithstanding . . . it's just the Republicans are worse.

In essence, the social Conservatives that drive the Republican party of the almost modern South . . . were against King, were against basic Constitutional rights for minorities . . . it's not all that surprising they are rising to the occasion when it comes to hateful speech and a PASSION for trying to deny rights to others.

I can't believe people are still shocked at the sh!t that comes out of this woman(and I'm using the word generously here)'s mouth. She did, after all, say we should invade all middle-eastern countries and convert them to christianity.

she's radical. she's insultive. she's got balls. with all that she generates attention, and be it negative or positive it's still attention. the more we talk about her the more popularity she is gaining.

if we all could ignore her. she would go away.

i wish people would ignore her, but alas they can't. unfortunately she doesn't fit the sterotype of a typical repub mouthpiece. people are used to the rushes and the newts, and are not used to a tall, thin, blonde woman being a repub flag waiver.

when i worked in DC at a lobby group my boss couldn't get enough of her and it was all because of her looks. i've yet to even crack open one of her books, i hope i never do, but i bet that in the back it mentions someone else as a major contributer (ie writer of the entire book).

either way, i definately agree with you.

I can sort of see the appeal in a "skank in a skirt" sort of way . . . but she's not attractive. Bone structure (face) isn't symmetrical, her face is long, lips are barely there, definitely nothing going on below the neck . . . she makes Hilary Swank (in her boy movies) look voluptuous in comparison.

Here are some gems from what passes for a right-wing pundit in the 21st century. Where we used to have William F. Buckley and George Will, we now have Rush, O'Reilly, and this skank:

"[Clinton] masturbates in the sinks."---Rivera Live 8/2/99

"God gave us the earth. We have dominion over the plants, the animals, the trees. God said, 'Earth is yours. Take it. Rape it. It's yours.'"---Hannity & Colmes, 6/20/01

The "backbone of the Democratic Party" is a "typical fat, implacable welfare recipient"---syndicated column 10/29/99

To a disabled Vietnam vet: "People like you caused us to lose that war."---MSNBC

On Princess Diana's death: "Her children knew she's sleeping with all these men. That just seems to me, it's the definition of 'not a good mother.' ... Is everyone just saying here that it's okay to ostentatiously have premarital sex in front of your children?"..."[Diana is] an ordinary and pathetic and confessional - I've never had bulimia! I've never had an affair! I've never had a divorce! So I don't think she's better than I am."---MSNBC 9/12/97

"I think there should be a literacy test and a poll tax for people to vote."---Hannity & Colmes, 8/17/99

"I think [women] should be armed but should not [be allowed to] vote."---Politically Incorrect, 2/26/01

"If you don't hate Clinton and the people who labored to keep him in office, you don't love your country."---George, 7/99

"It's enough [to be impeached] for the president to be a pervert."---The Case Against Bill Clinton, Coulter's 1998 book.

"I think we had enough laws about the turn-of-the-century. We don't need any more." Asked how far back would she go to repeal laws, she replied, "Well, before the New Deal...[The Emancipation Proclamation] would be a good start."---Politically Incorrect 5/7/97

"The presumption of innocence only means you don't go right to jail."---Hannity & Colmes 8/24/01

"I have to say I'm all for public flogging. One type of criminal that a public humiliation might work particularly well with are the juvenile delinquents, a lot of whom consider it a badge of honor to be sent to juvenile detention. And it might not be such a cool thing in the 'hood to be flogged publicly."---MSNBC 3/22/97

"I am emboldened by my looks to say things Republican men wouldn't."---TV Guide 8/97

"Anorexics never have boyfriends. ... That's one way to know you don't have anorexia, if you have a boyfriend."---Politically Incorrect 7/21/97

"I think [Whitewater]'s going to prevent the First Lady from running for Senate."---Rivera Live 3/12/99

"My track record is pretty good on predictions."---Rivera Live 12/8/98

"The thing I like about Bush is I think he hates liberals."---Washington Post 8/1/00

"The swing voters---I like to refer to them as the idiot voters because they don't have set philosophical principles. You're either a liberal or you're a conservative if you have an IQ above a toaster. "---Beyond the News, Fox News Channel, 6/4/00

"You want to be careful not to become just a blowhard."---Washington Post 10/16/98

It should be obvious to everyone that Coulter's antics are intended to generate publicity and therefore income, and that she cannot possibly believe her own rhetoric.

Rather than get stirred up by what she says, just ignore her. She's white noise.
