Why does Mandrake 9 give a installation error on every package ?

I'm trying to install Mandrake 9 and it seem like every package has an installation error

I don't know if its the iso or what.. the md5 checksum was ok, and I burned it twice to be sure (once at half speed)

I just installed Red Hat 8 last night and it was ok.

I deleted the partitions and formated before trying to install Mandrake


I've had Mandrake 8 on my system before, and it ran fine...


Dont know whether to DL Mandrake 9 again or what.

I just installed it last week. Posting from it now. The only package I had fail during install was Open Office.
I installed everything.

Give us some of the errors so we know how to try and help you.

On almost evey package installation. There would be an error like

"There was a porblem installing the package grep- 1.25 .rpm
Would you like to continue
YES / NO.. (just an example)

It would just do that over and over ..on every package.


I guess its something to do with my computer, because I tried to instal Mandrake 8
and the same thing happened...

I just reinstalled Red Hat 8 and everything went fine.

The only thing I can think of is I'm trying to install onto a slave drive on the second IDE channel.
