Why does it take 11+ hours for FedEx to travel 20 miles???

... because you're not their only customer. Yes you should've called to make arrangements. Hindsight is... blah blah blah.

They won't deliver the package immediately because you only paid for standard ground. Even if they could just zoom over in a truck and hand it to you an hour after ordering, they won't because you didn't pay for expedient delivery.

You realize they usually have dozens and dozens of packages to deliver in any day, right, in places that are further away than you?

Sheesh.

Fedex has delivered early to me before, strangely enough. Other times I do see it noted that "package not scheduled for delivery" even when it's already at my local hub.

They'll deliver a day early, sure, but it takes 2 days to get there when it's scheduled for 3. But they WON'T deliver it in ONE day because he paid for ground, not overnight.

Unless you ship FedEx "Express"...your delivery times will be off the wall...

FedEx Express has deadlines, and FedEx is obligated by them...

They could care less about their ground service shipments...

Fedex is not going to deliver a package in 1-2 days just because then can. That would kill their overnight/2 day service (aka money makers). You get what you paid for, is the package even late, or are you just busting their balls?
